Applications are invited for the new post of part time Planner for CPRE Somerset (Campaign to Protect Rural England). We are looking for someone who can work on a self-employed, freelance basis providing a service to the Branch. The work will include monitoring planning applications and responding to those that meet the tests for CPRE involvement: dealing with planning appeals, including hearings and public inquiries: and engaging in the development plan-making process. This is a new consultancy role within CPRE Somerset so there is a great opportunity for the right candidate to make a very significant contribution to our campaign objectives and successes at this most critical time for the challenges facing the Somerset countryside.

The successful applicant, who would work from home, will be paid on an hourly basis at a rate to be negotiated. It is envisaged that the Planner will work for around two days a week. He or she will report to the Chairman of Trustees, Prof Chris Lewis, and be expected to attend quarterly Trustee meetings, usually held in Street or Taunton.

More information about the work of the charity can be found on its website, at www.cpresomerset.org.uk and about the work of CPRE more generally at the national website at www.cpre.org.uk

Applicants should visit www.cpresomerset.org.uk to download an application pack and contact the Chairman of CPRE Somerset, Prof Chris Lewis CBE, for an informal discussion (07469 958430)

If candidates would like to receive a pack of literature about CPRE and CPRE Somerset, please contact admin@cpresomerset.org.uk stating your name and postal address and we will post one out to you.

Applications should be made by sending an up-to-date CV and covering letter to:
CPRE Somerset, 8 Rowdens Road, Wells Somerset BA5 1TU or by email to admin@cpresomerset.org.uk

Applications must be received by Friday 17th March 2017
