The Role

The Head of Fraud Strategy is accountable for the proactive management of MBNA's Fraud detection and prevention strategies ensuring P&L objectives are met and MBNA delivers the best possible levels of experience for our 3 Million Customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the definition, development and on-going optimization of Fraud prevention and detection Strategies across the Credit Card account lifecycle.
- Deliver Fraud loss expectations as set out in the financial plan through deployment of effective strategies. Owns and leads the forums that illustrate strategy performance against expectations - propose insights, opportunities and recommendations to Executive Management.
- Provides thought leadership, innovation and strategic direction around Fraud Strategy Management capabilities. Ensure that organisation, tools and process keep pace with the speed of innovation in the payments space.
- Identify emerging risks and trends escalating where appropriate. Challenge control effectiveness.
- Partner and influence across lines of business (GIS, Digital, Payments) and across the broader corporation to ensure a connected and aligned approach to the management of Fraud for MBNA LTD. Represent MBNA LTD on the Bank of America Enterprise Fraud Risk Committee
- Work closely with, and deliver change efficiently across, Operational functions.
- Hire, performance manage and develop high performing teams
- Be well connected within the industry representing MBNA at various industry forums and groups (CIFAS, UK Payments, Financial Fraud Action, Schemes, etc)

Skills & Experience

- Educated to graduate level
- Significant experience and expertise in development of Fraud Strategies for Cards
- Strong track record of driving an innovation agenda in the detection and prevention of Fraud
- Strong influencing and partnership skills. Ability to work effectively across the matrix.
- Experienced leader of analytical teams
- Highly analytical and numerate. Ability to understand advanced modelling techniques used in the identification of Fraud
- Credible communicator. Excellent verbal and written communications
