Responsibilities:

To start with helping develop a brand new website with an external agency-working very closely with them. With a future view to then bring this team in internally and hire below.
Another part of the role is to be a1st Line Support candidate who can help around the office, in case there are any technical faults.
Personality-start-up culture. Handle being a self starter and get on with it. Wants to achieve a make a difference, and develop a team below them.

External Relationships: O2, our Customers, Suppliers, Business Partners, Sponsors, Charities and the Press/Media
Internal Relationships: Stores, HR & Operations, Risk & Compliance, Contact Centre, SMB Team, Directors and CEO

Summary

As IT Manager at MID Communications you must ensure we can operate in the best possible working environment, with robust processes, systems and software in place to enable our business and teams to thrive and deliver against demanding targets.

As IT Manager you must continuously evaluate and improve our business IT functions, support the implementation of business strategy and work with other department heads to ensure their processes and IT requirements run smoothly and are fit for purpose. To do this and ensure MID Communications is at the forefront of technological development, you will constantly seek feedback and look internally at areas of improvement as well as externally seeking new IT developments in the marketplace.

You must seek to deliver improvements and ‘better ways of working’ for our business in order to support our growth. Excellent communication and networking is fundamental to success both with our Staff members and outwardly with local businesses.

The position will have managerial responsibilities for systems and infrastructure, and the role will have an opportunity to grow a Department. You must thrive on working in a fast paced retail business and be self-motivated, and have a positive attitude towards your work load and your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Design and build IT system capabilities, processes and policies to support MID Communications’ business plans
‘Ways of Working’ guidelines are fundamental to operational success, with every business needing a process blueprint to be successful, you must ensure each store has a sufficient ‘Way of Working’ manuals for all IT systems and processes and that it is future proofed and constantly reviewed
Effective and timely management reporting; ensuring reports are fit for purpose and delivered in a timely way.
Create and maintain a robust internal Service Level Agreement with stores on all IT maintenance issues ensuring delivery against targets, to minimalize the business downtime, for systems, and IT infrastructure
Maintain high levels of protection for staff within MID Communications with particular focus on protecting our IT systems, networks and buildings.
Effectively measure the return on investment of new processes and IT systems both for our own MID Communications brand and also as an O2 Franchise business.
Support, expand and update the software development of our website and app, ensure all updates and development work is completed on time and is non-disruptive to the business and its operational times.
Ability to negotiate the best deals and support for our IT Systems and use your commercial experience and technological expertise to create and develop new opportunities for MID Communications
Support the business in any store refit program with IT infrastructure needed to operate the site effectively.
Excellent relationship building with all our current stakeholders, so as to grow our network and increase your sphere of influence
Ensure you are seeking creative solutions for the business by constantly reviewing areas of improvement, to enhance the company’s productivity, which works towards the goal of one platform to serve all.
Ensure all the company data and information is protected and the company is complaint with all external bodies and in line with the data protection act

Essential Skills Criteria

Proven experience and knowledge of working in an IT Management/supervisor role
Proven track record of delivering in a results driven environment on time and working under pressure
Exemplary project management, with proven experience in delivering complex IT projects within challenging deadlines to budget.

Understand and management of VOIP systems, CRM and VMWARE along with any other IT skills and an understanding of telephone fixed lines.
Working knowledge of Java script and web development is important as is a good understanding of excel inclusive of macros. Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills is a must.
Can excite and motivate teams to engage in an IT Systems and delivery
Effective planning and organising skills to ensure projects, systems, processes and structure are integrated into the business effectively.
Proven track record of ‘Hands On’ IT/Operational Infrastructure skills, design and technical engineering with demonstrable responsibility, and experience.
Able to think on your feet, multi-tasking different issues even in the face of challenges
Strong understanding of digital technologies and IT software
Coding and HTML coding, to create and enhance our systems and their functionality
Proven organisational, planning and time keeping skills;

Desirable Criteria

Proven success within IT, Technical or Operational Role
A Degree in Business related subject or equivalent
Evidence of working on a large-scale IT projects and software implementation with examples
Strong networking skills, demonstrates the ability to develop contacts within the community
