JOB TITLE: Registered Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive

WORKING HOURS: 39 Hours per week

THE COMPANY: Our client is currently one of the largest and most innovative providers of education and residential care to children within the UK. They strive to provide strategies, support and solutions to some of the most difficult challenges involving young people.

THE ROLE: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established and successful company as a Registered Manager, based in Halifax. As a Registered Manager you would be responsible for delivering high quality care to the children and young people that live within the home, as well as being responsible for the delivery of all care services. The purpose of the position is to manage the day to day running of the residential home and assure a safe care environment, whilst playing a vital role in the lives of children and young people cared for at the home.

Key Responsibilities to include:- Registered Manager - Halifax

• Managing staff including monitoring, mentoring and completing appraisals
• Management of day to day routines
• Organising outings and activities
• Providing day to day care for the children
• Interviewing new staff
• Participation in on-call rota

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate should hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services or equivalent, with a Diploma in Social Work being desirable. The ideal candidate for the role of Registered Manager will have excellent leadership skills, along with well-developed written and verbal skills, and will be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children. A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.

Essential:

• Extensive experience within a Residential Childcare Worker position
• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services or equivalent is essential
• Experience of supervising staff is essential
• Experience of child protection is essential
• Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 is essential
• The ability to manage budgets and staff rotas is essential

Desirable:

• Experience in Social Work management is desirable
• A Diploma in Social Work is desirable
• Experience of Therapeutic Work is desirable
