Creative Director

Our Client is looking for a dynamic and determined Creative Director to help them inspire and strengthen their northern creative studio.

This experienced creative will lead a team of designers and be responsible for the creative output across all clients, including a mix of major retailers and FMCG brand owners in the UK and internationally.

They'll report to the Strategy Director, who is responsible for the northern studio; the Strategy Director reports directly to the group creative MD based at our London studio.

Working collectively, our experts in packaging technology & innovation, legal compliance, design management software and artwork & repro make the implementation of our creative work seamless and second nature.

Their international, but each studio likes to hang on to its individuality, with the northern studio proud of its Yorkshire roots. Despite our growth we still have that small family business feel at heart.

About you

We need someone spirited, positive and energetic to lead a talented team of creatives.

You might be a Design Director in a larger agency ready to make the step up to Creative Director, or a freelance designer or CD level creative consultant looking for a more permanent challenge.

You'll love packaging and branding, be fascinated by retail and enjoy sharing your experience, knowledge and excitement with those around you.

What you'll be responsible for:

You'll be given the opportunity to shape your own team, building on the strong group of designers we've already got.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be restricted to):

- Managing and developing the design team, strengthening it through inspiration, mentoring and recruitment.

- Leading projects creatively, with pre-design thinking and audit work providing the creative planning to add horsepower to creative briefs.

- Building direct relationships with senior stakeholders at existing clients, acting as their inspiring creative partner and growing project revenue organically.

- Representing and presenting at new business meetings and events, inspiring pitches and proposals with visual thinking and ideas.

- Raising awareness of the team's latest work, experience and capability, both internally

And externally in communications.

- Overseeing and ensuring quality control over concepts and projects, providing vital

Creative direction right through implementation to packaging on shelf.

You should have:

- At least four year's management experience working in branding and packaging design, with a mix of retail and branded clients

- A thorough understanding of branding and packaging design, techniques and processes, as well as industry best practices

- Good experience with leading software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

- Strong communication skills
