Service Manager / Home Manager - Children's Home

Salary: ??35,000 per annum + Extensive Benefits

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset - near Taunton

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Manager / Home Manager to join a care home in Somerset providing expert care for children aged up to 19 years old. This service provides care for young people aged up to 19 with conditions such as; autism, mental health problems, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities.

This home is dedicated to providing a range of services to ensure a stable and supportive environment so the young people can develop their skills, independence and confidence. This is challenging work which requires total professionalism and skilful care management to enable the young people to develop and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

As the Service Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing a staff team and inspire them to create a therapeutic, homely atmosphere which addresses the needs of some young people with a range of complex needs.

You will be accountable for the operation and financial control of the service working to budget and profit and loss accounts. You will be involved in the proactive management planning, along with recruiting, induction, supervision of staff team along with on-call duty management.

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone who is flexible, approachable, motivated and personable to fill this Service Manager role.

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the following:

- QCF / NVQ 4 Health & Social Care and Registered Care Managers Award, Level 4 management qualification or Level 5 Leadership and Management in Social Care is essential

- Extensive experience of managing a childrens care service for children with EBD

- Demonstrable management experience

- Experience of developing a service
