Our client is currently recruiting for a trainee or qualified Engineering Training Officer / Engineering Assessor to join their team in a field based role covering the Buckinghamshire County. The local office is in Aylesbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Turner with Electro Mechanical Engineering skills to change direction their career with full support towards gaining an Assessing qualification or for an experienced Engineering Trainer / Assessor to join a friendly team.

Ideally you will have a teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, AET, CET, DET, Cert Ed, PGCE or any other similar) and an Assessing qualification - CAVA / TAQA, A1 or D32 / D33 Assessing Award although full training can be given to a Trainee to gain the skills required in order to be successful in this role.

You will need to have recent experience of working within Engineering, specifically as a CNC Miller, CNC Turner, CNC Machinist, Manual Machinist, Electro / Mechanical Engineer or experience of teaching these subjects.

You will be travelling throughout Buckinghamshire to meet with learners in their own place of work to carry out training and assessments. Some workshop training may also be carried out when required. You will also be able to complete paperwork from home or the office.

Learners are mainly aged 16 - 25 and will be completing Apprenticeships. Some embedding of Functional Skills Maths and English will be required as part of their learning.


Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Some flexibility may be required due to the nature of the role and travelling

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on skills, qualifications and experience)

Travel: Field based role, travel required throughout Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire to meet with learners in the work place. Mileage is in-line with HMRC guidelines and will be paid from home or the office depending on where you are travelling to.

Holiday: 25 days increasing to 30 days with length of service

Benefits: Laptop, mobile phone, 4% pension scheme and life assurance policy. Fell assessor training if required to achieve recognised CAVA / TAQA Assessing award.
