Job Title: Senior Technical Manager

Location: Portsmouth

Our clients are a utility infrastructure consultants firm. The company is client led in this specialised sector of the construction industry. The company's highways/civils and regeneration/development teams fully embrace this philosophy by providing a comprehensive range of utility infrastructure disciplines, from diversions/abandonments/apparatus protection through to new supplies procurement, coordination and project management services. We support clients through the whole project life style: from feasibility studies for land acquisition through to a full project management service.

The team has particular expertise in utility design for highways and Section 278 agreements, regeneration and development schemes from master-planning through to a fully detailed design and modelling.

Due to continued success and growth, the company is now looking for an experienced Senior/Principle Engineer at their Hampshire office. The company is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic self-starter. A strong team leader who will deliver utility infrastructure projects from concept design through to detailed design. Responsible to the Project Director you will be leading a team of technical managers, coordinators and designers. The appropriate level of expertise will be required to deliver the role.

What you will be doing:

  • Successfully delivering clients' projects and schemes.
  • Ensuring technical content and quality of output produced in line with the client and project brief and quality procedures.
  • Acting as Technical Lead Engineer or Project Engineer, including the monitoring of financial and team performance.
  • You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur for a range of areas across the project and monitoring progress.
  • Providing project control.
  • You will attend progress meetings, design team meetings and client meetings as necessary.

What we will need from you:

  • Relevant engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience of most aspects of utility infrastructure schemes.
  • Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of the financial management and control of projects.
  • Able to produce well-presented and accurate reports.
