An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Operations Assistant to join our busy team at the Yorkshire Event Centre based in Harrogate.

The Charity comprises Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS), Great Yorkshire Show (GYS), Countryside Live (CL), Springtime Live, Fodder, Harrogate Caravan Park (HCP), Pavilions of Harrogate (POH) and Yorkshire Event Centre Ltd (YEC).

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager the Site Operations Assistant will prepare the venue for events in accordance with client’s requirements, offering the highest standards of customer care at all times:

  • This will include moving and setting out furniture, staging, AV, equipment, drapes, power supplies, networking and communications etc.
  • You will also undertake cleaning, maintenance and security tasks and use lifting equipment as required.
  • You will also assist with a wide variety of handyman jobs in the Facilities department – who support all customers (internal and external) on the Showground.

An ideal Site Operations Assistant will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service.
  • The ability and confidence to problem solve and deal with a variety of situations as they arise in a positive and professional manner.
  • Adaptability / flexibility as the post involves lots of weekend and evening work.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Handyman skills
  • To be fit and healthy as this is a physically demanding role
  • Have a full clean driving licence
  • Ability to prioritise work quickly and efficiently

It would be advantageous if you have;

  • Forklift / Telehandler Licence
  • MEWP Licence 3a & 3b
  • Previous experience in a similar environment. (Events, Facilities Handyman)
  • Knowledge of AV equipment
