National Sales Manager - £40,000pa (OTE £50K)

This is a new post reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Supertex is the North West's leading independent flooring distributor supplying the DIY merchants with artificial grass and flooring and retail outlets and traders with carpet and vinyl. Our business to business trading model for the last 38 years continues to be successful and as a family-led organisation, we value our supply chain, our fast-growing customer base and most importantly, our employees.

We have an appetite for growth and are looking to invest in a talented and experienced National Sales Manager who can support in the development of our Sales strategy as well as effectively manage the perforamance of a team of field-based sales managers. Currently, whilst our presence is predominantly North West and Midlands based – we are looking for the right person to help develop and exploit new sales opportunities across the rest of the UK and proactively manage, motivate and engage with a team of field-based sales people.

National Sales Manager Responsibilities:

To deliver profitable sales growth from our existing customer base; identifying market opportunities, new areas of business and introduce new customers both within the North West and across a wider National geographical area.

For the above to be achieved through the effective performance management of the field based sales team.

 

Sales Manager duties to Include:

  • Performance Management of the Field Sales Team, setting targets, tracking and reviewing
  • Coaching, improving and training the Field Sales Team
  • Communicating expectations and reviewing progress
  • Responsibility for appraising and developing staff and taking appropriate actions in the event of poor performance
  • Recruitment of new sales staff
  • Growing the number of artificial grass outlets
  • Growing the number of flooring outlets
  • Ensuring sales and marketing objectives are in line with Company strategy and budgets
  • Identifying product trends by salesperson and by customer
  • Determining gross profit plans by region to ensure regions run at optimum profit levels
  • Developing Field Sales action plans
  • Accompanying Field Sales on Customer visits on a consistent and regular basus
  • Key account management in new sectors
  • Establishing great customer relationships
  • Organising and conducting effective monthly sales meetings
  • Overseeing and implementing a CRM system
  • Improving the flow of sales / product information through a simple but effective reporting system.

 

The ideal Sales Manager:

  • Proven experience of performance managing a Field Sales Team
  • Sales coaching skills
  • Results-driven with a proven track record in sales and business growth gained within a competitive B2B marketplace. 
  • Existing relationships within Independent flooring outlets, Multiple DIY & Builders' Merchants would be an advantage but is not essential.
