Housing & Compliance Officer

Home Based but you will ideally be based around Leicester, Northampton or Bedford as travel will be required as far as Kent and up to Nottingham but also across Lincolnshire and Bucks.

£24,841 - £25,846 per annum

Full-time (38 Hours per week)

Our client is a charitable organisation that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and older people.

This role is a not-for-profit subsidiary company of our client and delivers a facilities management service.  In addition they own property and manage accommodation occupied by vulnerable adults.

They are a growing organisation and they are looking for someone to ensure that they provide a high quality service for their tenants and fulfil their housing management responsibilities and compliance obligations as a provider of housing and those contained in any management or service level agreement/s held by the organisation whilst maximising rental income.

Housing & Compliance Officer - Job Role and Responsibilities:

To ensure that they provides a high quality service for its tenants and fulfils its housing management responsibilities and compliance obligations as a provider of housing.

Essential

-     Level 3 (NVQ) Certificate in Housing or CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing

-     Ability to drive and have the use of a vehicle during working hours to undertake employment related duties

-     Ability to undertake extensive travel

-     Able to attend occasional evening meetings with tenants

-     General housing management

-     Undertaking property condition inspections and completion of risk assessment

-     Demonstrable IT skills

-     Negotiation skills and an understanding of different cultures and backgrounds

-     Understanding and completion of RP quarterly housing returns

-     Landlord & Tenant Legislation and housing best practice

-     Housing related Health & Safety Legislation

-     Organised and able to communicate verbally and in writing to a high standard with a wide variety of different people

-     Understanding of the housing support needs of vulnerable adults

-     Analytical and problem solving skills

-     Time management and ability to complete own administration

-     Ability to manage external relationships

-     An ability to deal with sensitive or frustrating people issues

Desirable

-          Degree in housing, estate or property management, sociology or social policy

-          Or HND in estate management housing

-          Management in a supported housing setting

-          Clean current licence
