Our diverse, energetic Finance Team are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant and we are keen to hear from productive candidates with a can-do attitude. This will be a 10 month maternity cover based at our office in Croxley Green.

Based at our office in Croxley Green and reporting in to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will primarily be responsible for the timely and accurate recording of costs within the business and payment of suppliers.

 

This role will suit an individual with great customer service and relationship-building skills. A high standard of professionalism and confidentiality will be required. This role is ideal for a suitably experienced Accounts Payable Assistant however, we would consider applications from entry level candidates who are currently migrating from education, providing they can demonstrate outstanding customer service skills and can meet our requirements below with regards to level of education.

 

The nature of the role demands that the most suitable candidates will possess an excellent telephone manner and will be adept at building rapport with suppliers; will demonstrate tact and diplomacy and have the ability to deal with challenges in a confident and professional manner. Attention to detail, high productivity and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines are also vital personal attributes essential to being successful in this role. In order to engage in effective correspondence with our suppliers you will also possess high levels of literacy and written English.

 

Primary duties will include:

 

  • Inputting all invoices onto the system
  • Ensuring rechargeable costs are passed over, including staff recharges
  • Assisting in the collation of all invoices due for payment - Ensuring they have been approved; taking action where necessary
  • Ensuring all supplier statements have matching invoices
  • Assisting in carrying out payments by BACS and cheque where appropriate and passing on for approval
  • Issuing remittance advice to suppliers
  • Liaising with suppliers on a day-to-day basis
  • Providing assistance for any staff queries

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working in an Accounting / Finance team with accounts payable experience is desirable but not essential
  • A minimum of 4 GCSE`s, or equivalent, at grade C and above, including Mathematics and English
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Access Accounts is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Customer focused, you will provide our customers with a quality service and will demonstrate flexibility to adapt as priorities change day-to-day
  • High Standard of integrity, confidentiality and discretion
  • Outstanding communication skills - You will be adept at forging longstanding, effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the business
  • Good levels of literacy & numeracy
  • Maintaining the filing system for all invoices

 

 

The Finance team deliver outstanding support to our business and customers throughout the week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 09:00-17:30, however, flexibility to meet the needs of our business is essential.
