Smart Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established Food Production Company in their search for an interim / contract Maintenance Engineer. They require a Multi Skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias, to start ASAP for a period of 6 months.
It may include some weekends, but mainly day shift patterns (early/late starts), but no night shifts. Hours are a nominal 40 per week, Mon - Fri, providing cover as part of a team between 6.00am and 10.00pm.
The position would be working as part of the engineering team, whose job it is to eliminate downtime and improve PPM (process performance measures) by maximising the efficiencies of all plant and equipment onsite.
To do this, you would be involved in a variety of work, which will be interesting and challenging - a sample of what you may get involved in as follows:
-Ensuring the implementation of the company planned plant maintenance programme and OEE;
-Carrying out engineering projects that will improve OEE levels and reduce downtime
-Checking all site equipment complies with H&S standards, and that it complies with food safety requirements
-Providing responsive diagnostic and problem solving skills to ensure continuous production and efficient production and services
-Breakdown investigation and providing preventative improvement recommendations;
-Attending breakdowns if required (including out of expected working hours)
To be able to perform this job you would need to be either 16th or 17th edition qualified, and have a strong background in maintenance and reliability, ideally from within the food industry. PLC interrogation experience, and Lean/Kanban experience would be looked upon favourably.
