The Company
First Recruitment Group is currently searching for an Engineering Supervisor. The food production company we represent is a leading producer and manufacturer of chilled foods. They have a UK wide presence and supply premium tier products to some of the major UK retailers. They have a reputation for developing their staff and are second to none when it comes to external and internal training.
The Role
The successful Engineering Supervisor will need to:-
* Be responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of the packing equipment.
* Be responsible for the packing engineers, manage their day to day activities.
* To ensure that other than planned downtime the packing lines are available and running at optimum levels at all times.
* To be proactive in meeting site requirements by reducing waste and minimizing utility usage in the packing area.
* Ensure that the product that we produce is of the highest standard by not compromising the process & plant with short term fix's
* To have overall responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of the packing equipment
* Support the manager on deciding the frequency and scale of maintenance necessary to optimise factory performance.
* Find innovative ways of improving the operation and efficiency of the packing lines.
* Leading a team to analyse the cause of breakdowns and take appropriate action to avoid a reoccurrence.
* Use continuous improvement techniques and best practice to improve machine efficiencies.
* Deliver and develop effective re-active maintenance, repairs & improvements
* Use of and feedback on, appropriate spares required
* Provide correct and effective communication to all Managers
* Generate and complete work orders on the CMMS.
* Participate in shift hand-overs
* Help develop and implement effective PM schedules
* Support and achieve the engineering KPI's
The Person
The successful Engineering Supervisor will be able to demonstrate experience of;
* Multi-skilled engineer
* Excellent fault finding and route cause analysis skills
* Experience of working in a FMCG environment
* Some supervisory experience would be beneficial
* Comfortable in autonomous decision making and team working
