We are looking for level 2 residential Support Workers to join our team to deliver person centred services for individuals with a learning disability & challenging behaviour & to take responsibility for supporting them with the development of individual support plans & in positive risk taking. We are looking for part time & full time people who can be flexible in the hours a candidate requires although you will have to work a variety of shifts.
Responsibilities;
- Work with the individual you are allocated to, to identify, set & review goals
- Participate in functional assessments to inform support needs
- Support individual to develop plans that help them manage risks positively & promote independence
- Liaise with family, advocates & professionals
- Develop communication strategies to help individual make decisions & improve understanding
- Support individuals in line with Positive Behaviour Support Plans in place
- Support people with their finances in line with individual plans
- Support individuals to lead healthy lifestyles, plan medical appointments/take medication & maintain an occupation
- Support people to develop (and maintain) leisure pursuits, personal hobbies & to take part in developmental opportunities
- Support individuals to actively participate in their home
- Act as shift leader in absence of Transition Service Manager/Assistant
- Undertake any duties of a Level 1 Support Worker
- Undertake any training necessary
Experience (Essential);
- Working with people with learning disabilities
- Working within a health or social care environment
Qualifications/Skills;
- QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Essential)
- QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Desirable)
- BTEC Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support or similar (Desirable)
- Ability to develop individual???s basic life skills E.g. cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping
- Professional & responsible manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work effectively with others
- Ability to take a lead on shift
