Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior International Trading Sales Manager to join our team in Rochester.

Senior International Trading Sales Manager key responsibilities:
  • Driving profitability of all commodity sales generated within international markets.
  • Driving the monitoring and reporting of international trading.
  • Managing and maximising complex international relationships.
  • Educating the organisation and report on business performance, market conditions, changes to legislation and political landscapes which affected our ability to trade.
  • Profitably marketing and selling all international commodities produced or procured by Viridor in full compliance of all UK and International regulations and in line with VRM’s monthly and annual sales plans.
  • Maintaining existing and be proactive in the identification and securing of new and emerging end-market re-processors outlets for all commodities.
  • Collating and providing business intelligence on all recyclables/materials, values, customers and competitors at an international level.
  • Ensuring all materials being prepared for sale and ultimate collection are properly sorted to standards compliant with end-customer’s specifications, environmental legislation and the Trans-Frontier Shipment Regulations.
  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of all relevant Environmental Legislation and the Trans-Frontier Shipping Regulations governing the International movement and Transport of “waste” materials.
  • Maximising the commercial opportunities of recycling, re-processing and reuse of waste derived resources.
  • Developing strong client relationships with key international customers.
  • Acting as a senior member of the corporate management team contributing where relevant to strategic and long term decisions and actions of the Company at all levels.
  • Understanding how market prices are developing.
  • Maximising margins based on customer mix and netback to factory gate.
  • Ensuring timely offtake of recycled paper from Viridor production assets.
  • Developing a CRM database.
  • Understanding margins and claims by customer.
  • Negotiation of export claims.
  • ·         Contingency planning to enable speed risk over number of customers to ensure sales optimisation
The ideal Senior International Trading Sales Manager:

To be successful in this position, you must be educated to degree level in a business / commercial related discipline or similar level through experience and have a Full UK driving licence. You will also need to possess:
  • Proven knowledge of the waste industry.
  • Proven knowledge of corporate financial systems, Profit and Loss account management and control of capital expenditure.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK, EU, USA and Asia legislative (e.g. H&S, environmental, transport) trading laws, and technological constraints and developments.
  • Proven knowledge of leading and directing business growth and development either organic or via acquisition.
  • Proven knowledge of how to embed and implement transformational change.
  • Proven understanding of the supply and demand cycles, market influence factors, competitors and trade prices of all Commodities.
  • Excellent working knowledge of AQSIQ, TFS, AQSIQ, Viridor TQM and PRN's.
  • Proven financial abilities with commercial acumen.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Highly credible and articulate with great presence and gravitas with the ability to communicate fluently and concisely.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills at the highest levels.
  • Ability to think and act strategically in short, medium and long term horizons reacting to constant changes in market pressures and cycles, government policy and initiatives and legislative developments.
  • Ability to develop long term business relationships and to use these to maximise business growth and development.
In return for the Senior International Trading Sales Manager position, we can offer a basic salary of £60,000 - £72,000 per annum, working for a Company that strives to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable
