Shift Manager- Warehouse Cleaner/ Hygiene Operative

Servest are recruiting for a shift manager to oversee a team of 40 cleaning operatives (25 on shift at any one time) at a busy distribution warehouse in Reading. Reporting to the Cleaning Manager and Facilities Manager on site, you will be responsible for ensuring high standards of cleaning are delivered and maintained to meet the customer's specification, supporting your team and being the first point of contact for training, queries and rotas. As well as the general cleaning we also cover the cleaning of the lorries and cages – all staff at this site are trained to be multi skilled to include cleaning and dekit onsite.

The Night shift- 10pm-6am- pay rates Competitive

Working days are usually 5 days over 7 (weekends are worked on a rota basis)

There is also occasional optional overtime avaliable

 

What the job involves Day to Day:

Manage a team of 25 operatives on shift

Assist with the cleaning and hygiene activities in line with the distribution centre.

Ensure you communicate effectively with Facility Manager on site regarding the specification and ensure they are aware of any issues.

Ensure all audits are supported within the time-scales given and that next steps are immediately resolved and communicated directly to the cleaning supervisor and where necessary using these to build long term improvements with the customer.

Check all cleaning equipment relevant to your tasks regularly and report on any defects / repairs required.

Ensure all hand over documentation is completed effectively for all equipment.

Work in a safe manner at all times and hold a clear understanding of Health and Safety legislation and to be proactive in the reduction of onsite accidents.

Maintain an effective working relationship with the customer by ensuring that you communicate with the customer managers in the appropriate way. Responding to any customer feedback in a professional and timely manner.

Maintain confidentiality at all times, establish and maintain a good reputation with the customer.

The Skills and experience we are looking for:

You will be an experience shift manager within a cleaning environment

You will have the ability to provide a high standard of service to our client.

Demonstrate strong personal integrity and embed these values in your team.

Experience within the cleaning industry in a warehouse environment is advantageous.

A proven track record of dealing with customers is s must

Contracted Days of Work 5 out of 7 (37.5 hours a week) you will be required to work some weekends as rostered.
