Eight out of ten public transport journeys in the Liverpool City Region are made on the bus. They are vital to the region's economic success and social capacity with 100,000 journeys to work and 60,000 to education taking place each day. For these reasons, the LCR wants to see a thriving, affordable and sustainable bus network, with a strategic approach driving a better customer experience and patronage growth.
The role of Bus Strategy Programme Manager will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the region's new Bus Strategy. This ambitious strategy sets out the importance of buses to the Liverpool City Region, the issues and opportunities for bus, along with our vision for bus services into the future.
The role will be responsible for driving the delivery of various programmes and projects and ensuring that there is a common understanding of progress against the strategic objectives of the Bus Strategy. The core component of the role is to act as the Programme Manager for the Liverpool City Region Bus Alliance. This is an innovative partnership between Merseytravel/Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and commercial bus operators to make significant improvements for customers and grow patronage. The work will involve overseeing the delivery of the current programme, ensuring that delivery and governance is robust and in line with contractual agreements.
The role also involves coordinating efforts across Merseytravel's Bus Team and the wider organisation to deliver specific elements of the Bus Strategy. You will have practical project and programme management experience and be able to establish and maintain core project management documentation and provide regular performance reporting to a range of governance bodies, including those associated with the Bus Alliance, and the Combined Authority's Programme Management Office (PMO). The post holder will be expected to establish and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of delivery partners, including bus operators and City Region stakeholders.
Bus Development Officer £24,519 - £26,518
An exciting opportunity has become available within Merseytravel's Bus Development team; this key role is an integral part of the team that is responsible for the design and development of the Liverpool City Region bus network and capital programme development delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a district(s) within the City Region and act as a primary point of contact for bus operator and other key stakeholder liaison, designing, developing and planning the bus network effectively and innovatively to ensure that the bus network serves the needs of the region.
You will have programme and project management skills gained in a related field which have been utilised to develop appropriate solutions to complex issues.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of service delivery, time and resource management skills and an ability to prioritise. It is essential that you have excellent communication and proven interpersonal skills that can be demonstrated through your ability to build and manage robust and effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Knowledge of the transport industry and transport regulatory legislation is essential for this role, with knowledge of the transport network in the Liverpool City Region desirable.
The successful candidate will be based in No 1 Mann Island, Liverpool.
