Design Group UK is a market-leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of cards, crackers, and wrapping paper for customers around the world. Part of the AIM-listed IG Design Group Plc (£237m turnover) this business unit and its c350 employees operate from its state-of-the-art manufacturing and design facility in south Wales. The business is profitable, growing, and has benefited from significant recent investment in its manufacturing capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a progressive and ambitious finance professional to join a high-performing organisation as deputy to the Finance Director.

The Role

• Reporting to, and deputising for, the Finance Director, lead a team of nine to ensure the day-to-day financial activities of the business are properly managed and delivered.
• Ensure the highest standards of delivery of management accounts, budgets and forecasts, statutory audits and key business projects as required.
• Act as a true “business partner”, adding significant value to business performance by developing and communicating insightful management information.

The Candidate

• Graduate calibre, fully qualified accountant (ACA desirable) with at least 3 years subsequent experience working in industry. A background in FMCG or manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Strong people management and communication skills, with experience of leading small teams and of building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• A motivated self-starter who operates to the highest professional standards.
