Senior Quantity Surveyor- Groundworks 
Fareham 
Salary £65,000 + Package 
 
A leading Civil Engineering contractor is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This respected business has been trading for over 20 years and a solid reputation based on quality, trust and safety. 
 
They have successfully completed work on behalf of major contractor through to smaller local developers and builders. Project undertaken have been various public, industrial, commercial, housing, retail and property development contracts ranging up to £4 million. 
 
Offering services includes site clearance, bulk excavation, earth moving, reinforced concrete structures, road construction, deep drainage, foundations, car parks, driveways and external works. 
 

The Role 
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will report to the managing director and will be his right hand concerning all commercial activities. 
Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget allowances. 
Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value. 
Ensure that necessary information between customers, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner. 
Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner. 
Valuing completed work and arranging payments. 
Providing advice on contractual claims. 
Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. 
Performing risk and value management and cost control. 
Advising on procurement strategy. 
Preparing and analysing costing for tenders. 
Allocating work to subcontractors. 
 

The Person 
Will have 10 years quantity surveying experience and at least 5 years working in Groundworks. 
Ideally (but not necessarily) be a member of a relevant professional RICS or MCIOB 
Hold a valid CSCS card. 
NEC and JCT Contract knowledge.
Strong forecasting experience.
Strong Excel Knowledge.
Strong contract knowledge.
