JOB TITLE: Finance / Work Experience Officer


SALARY & BENEFITS: + professional development, pension & onsite parking


WORKING HOURS: 20 hours per week term time plus one week

The school has a new, fantastic, modern GBP8 million building open in June 2015 with all of the latest facilities to aid them with their teaching and for student use.



THE ROLE: The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person with schools financial and administration experience to join the busy school office environment.



Key Responsibilities of a Finance / Work Experience Officer to include:-


  • Monitor the use of financial resources by the school to ensure that financial regulations are adhered to
  • Administer the finances of school activities not financed from public funds and maintain appropriate accounts including School Fund
  • Control and collection, banking and disbursement of all official monies within the school and ensure that they are accounted for in accordance with financial regulations
  • The generation of orders, checking and processing invoices for payment, within accounts payable/receivable and petty cash
  • Work with senior staff to manage and organise work experience arrangements for all students and to assist with the co-ordination of careers advice


THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work under pressure and be part of a team. You will need high standards of written and spoken English along with be able to work towards tight deadlines.



Key experience essential for the Finance / Work Experience Officer role:
  • Experience working within a busy school office environment including finance
  • Experience using an information management system e.g Agresso/SAP
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C and above
  • Lives within a commutable distance to Newport, Shropshire
