An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small but successful team at a well established IT Support company. This role is a 2nd Line Support Engineer, based at our office in Bolton.
We have been providing IT support services and technology solutions around Greater Manchester for over 25 years. We specialise in supporting the IT requirements of modern businesses which allows our clients to concentrate on what they do best, running their business.??
This role will predominantly be office based. As a 2nd Line Support Engineer your duties will be to:
??? Answer inbound telephone & email support queries
??? Provide IT Support for customers via telephone, remote & occasional site visits
??? Promote proactive support to all customers in order to prevent errors reoccurring
??? Review and implement hot-fixes
??? Plan and implement the roll out of new hardware and software
??? Maintain systems security
??? Provide Support on PC, LAN, and other connectivity issues for customers??
??? Identifying additional customer requirements even if they are outside of contracted support and notify Account Manager
An ideal 2nd Line Support Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:
??? Previous experience working in a IT support environment (telephone & remote support)
??? Microsoft Certified Professional (ideally MCSA or MCSE)
??? Extensive Active Directory & Exchange knowledge??
??? Knowledge of web / email filtering
??? Hardware - Servers, PCs, printers, networking hardware??etc.
??? Software - Server & desktop operating system, e-mail & other desktop applications??
??? Experience of hardware and software firewalls
??? WAN and LAN experience??
??? Mobile Device Management (Android / iOS / Blackberry)
??? Backup/Restore
??? Monitoring & Management of contracted equipment
The standard working hours are Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5pm, however you will be expected to be flexible. Overtime may be required and will be paid accordingly. Salary is dependant on experience.
