KEY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates will ideally come from a software support background and have some working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript.

Please note this is NOT a Microsoft / Desktop / Help Desk type of role. You will be providing technical support to bespoke software applications. Candidates that have an excellent telephone manner with good troubleshooting skills and an interest in software development would be ideal.

Working as the Service Desk Analyst / Application Support Helpdesk Engineer you will provide specialist implementation and software support to the Company’s NHS Customers.

As the Service Desk Analyst / Application Support Helpdesk Engineer you will have good troubleshooting skills with the ability to work on your own initiative. You will also have a friendly and professional telephone manner when engaging customers directly on calls, ensuring a high level of service is always maintained.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Service Desk Analyst / Application Support Helpdesk Engineer:

  • Accuracy in recording information and ability to document processes
  • Ability to plan and deliver work to deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Good customer telephone manner for requirements gathering of technical information
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Flexibility to provide evening shift and weekend cover on a rota basis (1 in every 4 weekends with minimal hours)   
  • Ability to implement Customer Service Requests and build and deploy new services
  • Provision of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on your own initiative

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate with an IT discipline or experience within a similar role will be considered
  • Some working knowledge of SQL
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript
  • Knowledge of N3, Information Security and Information Governance would be desirable
  • General NHS/Healthcare sector experience would be desirable
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to provide evening shift and weekend cover on a rota basis (1 in every 4 weekends with minimal hours)   
  • Excellent telephone manner with good written and verbal communication skills
