An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Fire Protection Inspection Officer to join their growing force.

Our client is seeking to recruit a highly motivated professional to undertake inspections in line with Service Policy to discharge the authority’s statutory duty under fire safety legislation and to provide fire safety advice and guidance to local authorities, business, commerce, the public and to professional and other regulatory bodies.

Position Summary;
Reporting to the Station Manager, as a Fire Protection Inspection Officer some of your daily duties will include:
• Undertake inspection of premises in accordance with Service policy, enforce relevant fire safety legislation, provide fire safety advice and guidance and determine solutions to hazards
• Provide advice on self-determined fire risk assessments and evaluate fire safety design submission to achieve compliance with relevant fire safety legislation
• Provide and process risk information gained from inspections in support of the Service’s Integrated Risk Management Plan
• Undertake liaison and consultation with Building Control Bodies, local authorities and other regulatory agencies in accordance with Service policy and procedures
• Maintain knowledge and understanding of Fire Authority policies and procedures, and ensure work is carried out in line with department standards and targets
• Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and courses identified as appropriate to role

So who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have the required skills and experience to undertake this role, including;
• Experience of / thorough understanding of undertaking inspections of premises, evaluating and assessing risk assessments is essential
• Experience of determining solutions to hazards / risks and report writing
• Full driving licence is essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
