THE COMPANY: Our client is a building civil engineering and joinery contract with 50 years' experience. While they work throughout the UK, their work is predominately in Cumbria, Northumbria and South Scotland.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITES: Contracts Manager/Engineer- Carlisle, Cumbria
The Contract Manager/Engineer will be responsible for managing all site based activities to ensure contractual obligations are delivered in line with client requirements and expectations

The Contract Manager/Engineer will be responsible for managing all site based activities to ensure contractual obligations are delivered in line with client requirements and expectations
Main duties will include, but not limited to:
- Compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
- Operations ^ workforce management to ensure efficient allocation of resources to undertake works in a cost effective manner
- Short/long term planning and monitoring of projects and implementation of recovery plans where required
- Commercial awareness in project delivery and liaison with the QS in the preparation of accounts and cost monitoring
- Work in line with current ISO procedures and provide feedback for future development
- Ensure a high level of quality and compliance with standards are maintained throughout the delivery of projects.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the role:- Contracts Manager/Engineer- Carlisle, Cumbria
- Previous site management experience essential.
- Broad understanding of construction Health & Safety law and legislation
- SMSTS qualification would be advantageous
- First Aider and CSCS qualifications
- Flexibility with working hours is required
- Full UK driving license is essential
- This position will be site based dependant on location of site/project, so extensive travel dependant on location will be required
