Right now our client is looking for self driven and empathetic individuals to take on the role of  TEAM LEADERS at their care home in Cardinal Heenan House Roby-Mill, Up-Holland. Positions are available for Day and Night time Team Leaders.

 

 

JOB PURPOSE

 

 

 

To assist the Manager in managing the Home to the Standards required by The Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010.  This involves creating an environment which is homely and secure and in which the needs of each resident can be met.

Summary of Main Duties

  • To take responsibility for the management of the home when nominated by the duty roster as the senior officer on duty.  This includes financial and administrative duties as directed.
  • To provide personal care for residents as may be indicated in care plans or service specifications.
  • To assist in directing the work of junior members of staff, to contribute to good working relationships within the home and to foster the loyalty of the staff to their employers.
  • To promote social and other activities for the residents and work to enhance their quality of life.
  • To contribute to the Christian atmosphere in the home. To make arrangements to ensure that the spiritual needs of the residents are met by contact with local ministers of religion.
  • To assess potential residents as to their suitability for residential care if directed by the Manager.
  • To work as part of a team and to contribute to the work of the team.
  • To actively participate in regular staff meetings.
  • When directed/asked by the Manager to provide formal supervision to junior staff according to the policies and procedures of the organisation and home.
  • To promote links between the home and the local community including neighbours, schools and voluntary bodies and to enable the residents to take part as fully as possible in the life of the community.
  • To develop and maintain good relationships with residents families, social workers, purchasing officers, registration and inspection officers and other professionals and officials involved in the life of the home.
  • To take on keyworking duties when required including compiling care plans and participating in care reviews.
  • To undertake training as required.
  • To undertake housekeeping duties as required for example ordering supplies and directing domestic and catering staff.
  • To take responsibility for health & safety, fire safety, health & hygiene as directed by the Manager.
  • To administer medication; and when requested to do so or when in charge of the home take responsibility for the drug administration procedure.
  • To undertake “sleeping-in” duties as required.
  • This job description details only the more important duties and tasks; it is not an exhaustive list.  The post holder will be required to carry out any other duty which might reasonably be requested by the Manager.

            

  • To remain on the premises of the service for the whole duration of the shift unless directed to do so by the Manager.          

Hours of work:                40 hours per week on a shift system plus “Sleep in” Duties (We would consider a job share.)

 

Annual Leave:                 Five working weeks per annum plus Bank Holidays on a pro rata basis.

 

Starting salary:                 £19,536- £20,632 on a rota basis.

We also require team leaders to work on a casual basis £9.89 per hour.

Minimum of NVQ level 3 is essential.  It would be desirable for applicants to have previous experience in this job role (may consider senior carers looking to progress in their career). Team leaders also required to work on a casual basis £9.89 per hour. The post will be subject to satisfactory D.B.S and references.
