We are recruiting a Trainee Laboratory Assistant within the Product Development Team based in Billericay. This role will report to the Product Development Manager working, within our colour production facility. You will provide support to the wider commercial team, based in the UK, but servicing a global customer base.

About the company:

We are a speciality colour producer focusing on key markets – Personal Care, Food & Pharmaceuticals, delivering innovative colour solutions to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

The primary responsibilities will be colour matching and new product development plus any associated tasks. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have good colour vision, and will be practical in their approach to tasks. They will have the aptitude to learn, demonstrating attention to detail and good observational skills. The role requires an ability to work accurately with technical equipment - good hand-eye coordination is needed.

As this is a trainee role, the candidate will need to have an ability to follow, understand and convey technical instructions.

Desirable attributes include an interest in science, some chemistry experience or qualification is advantageous. The role has a requirement for an element of mathematical ability, particularly when working with percentage calculations in formulations.

The role also has a creative element including the development of new products, to meet customer specific requirements. Artistic capabilities would therefore be advantageous.
