Carer / Support Worker / Care Staff - Multiple Positions

Job Title: Carers

Location: Croydon

Salary: £8.94 per hour (Carer) / £9.76 per hour (Evening Carer)

Hours: Carer 36 hours per week Mon Tues Wed (8.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.). & Sat (2.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.) and Sun (8.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.)

& Evening Carer 7 nights a fortnight (4.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m.)

A charitable Housing Association who specialise in Supported Housing for the Elderly has vacancies for Carers in the Croydon area.

Key Responsibilities:

• To encourage tenants to live as independently as possible, to enhance their
• quality of life
• To promote, protect and respect individual tenant's rights to privacy, dignity, self-determination and choice

Learning and Development

• To actively participate in self-development as appropriate and training as identified for the benefit of performance management
• Compulsory attendance at all training courses identified or requested by the Association in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment as detailed in the Employee Handbook

Other

• To carry out any other duties as reasonably instructed by the House Manager (or Manager/ Senior on duty) or Registered Care Manager essential for the well-being of the tenants, or smooth management/running of the Scheme
• To attend at Team and other staff meetings as required where reimbursement will be made.
• To comply with all contractual agreements affecting employment, completing the appropriate forms as necessary, such as time sheets, self-certification forms, annual leave forms, unauthorised leave etc.

Person specification:

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
• Caring and sensitive personality
• Ability to demonstrate compassion, respect and empathy to caring for older people

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.
