Cook / Chef / Catering Assistant - Multiple Positions Available

Job Title: Cooks

Location: Croydon

Salary: £10.12 per hour

Hours: 32 ½ hours per week (Mon Tues Wed Fri & Alt Sat & Sun 8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.)

& 10 hours per week (Sat & Sun 9.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.)

A charitable Housing Association who specialise in Supported Housing for the Elderly has vacancies for Cooks in and around the Croydon area.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide a supportive environment & to maintain a high standard of dietary needs ensuring the provision of a varied well balanced and nutritional meal to residents in relation to their individual and medical dietary requirements
• To comply with current Food Hygiene regulations, environmental health requirements and Health & Safety at Work requirements.
• To adhere to stock control procedures including rotation of stored foods i.e. frozen, fresh and dry packaged.
• To ensure proper storage of food, and food in damaged packaging to be transferred to new containers as promptly as possible.
• To supervise and be responsible for staff who enter the kitchen area.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Extensive catering experience in a commercial kitchen
• Relevant Food Hygiene Certificate
• CIEH Level 3 (or higher) in Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
• Supportive of a charitable, caring organisations aims and values

Desirable:

• City &Guilds 706 (1 and 2) in Professional Cookery (or NVQ 2 / 3)
• Experience of preparing fresh food and multi cultural cuisine
• Previous experience of budget control
