Sales Development Executive - Chelmsford

​Part time - 21 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday preferred

An excellent opportunity has arisen to support the delivery of circulation volume and revenue for the Trinity Mirror titles Essex Chronicle and Brentwood Gazette. Working with the Sales Development Manager, you will be building and developing client relationships through merchandising and sales activity. Working with both large stores and small independent retailers, you will work in an organised and efficient manner to get maximum potential for our business both repeat and new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the business in public in a professional manner
  • As agreed with the Sales Development Manager (SDM), ensure weekly activity is appropriate and effective.
  • Deputise for the SDM when required
  • Organise selling promotions including outside events i.e. summers shows, supermarkets and local markets to achieve pre-agreed targets. Set up and close down events as well as actively manning events and selling yourself on occasions.
  • Work closely with and support a team of casual staff to ensure event success.
  • Work within defined H&S guidelines when out in the field and conduct risk assessments
  • Participate in all elements of Subscription development activity relevant to titles on territory
  • Plan each activity in advance
  • Support new outlets that you have brought onboard, both traditional and non-traditional

You

Are you organised with the ability to manage your time and work within a team or on an individual basis to promote our brand and meet sales targets. You will be happy in a front facing role and striving to build long lasting relationships with many differing clients. The ability to remain calm under pressure and to stay positive is essential. A background in retail is a distinct advantage.

Hours can be flexible across 3 days to school school hours.
