Database Administrator / DBA - MySQL

Due to the growing demands of their services, they are now recruiting for a "MySQL DBA" to join their creative workforce on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to their Project Manager, the main purpose of this the MySQL DBA is to develop and maintain the database security and capacity.

Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring of database system utilization and query performance, working closely with development teams to provide the highest level of database performance
- Monitor database events, troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Monitor database backup and validate recovery plans
- Estimation and optimization of the capacity and performance
- Coordinate with system administration and application development teams for capacity planning and application design
- Implement solutions for database performance monitoring and tuning
- Deal with complex queries
- MySQL database tuning
- Ensure the security access

The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous extensive similar experience
- Be an expert in stored procedures (Essential)
- Be an expert with MySQL syntax and error handling
- Have extensive experience of MySQL optimization of tables and queries
- Have excellent communication skills
