Research & Development Senior Analytical Scientist – Personal Care

This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within a successful and rapidly expanding Technical team.

Laboratory based at Lonza’s impressive Manchester facility, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Personal Care NPD team.

This diverse role will include responsibility for:

  • Providing full analytical testing support of raw materials, intermediates and finished products in accordance with cGMP practices.
  • Performing analysis procedures and methods to quantitatively measure specified compounds in a variety of formulations.
  • Calibrating laboratory instrumentation.
  • Writing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carrying out internal QA audits and assisting with external audits.
  • Planning, scheduling and completing project work effectively and efficiently.

Ideally with a related scientific Degree e.g. Analytical Chemistry, candidates must have previous “hands on” industrial analytical experience gained within the personal care industry, or raw material supplier to this sector, with practical experience of method development.  Experience in HPLC & LCMS is essential, whilst a knowledge of Chromatography techniques e.g. GCMS/GPC/FTIR is preferred.     

Innovative and flexible, your attention to detail will be combined with sound project management experience, high levels of accuracy, a strong IT affinity and excellent communication skills.
