We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At Marine Society and Sea Cadets we are currently looking for an ambitious and vibrant Receptionist / HR Administrator to come join our team based in Waterloo, London. The successful candidate will join us on a part time, contract basis and will receive a competitive salary of £14,344 gross per annum (£20,000 pro rata for job share).

This is a fixed term maternity cover position initially to 31st May 2017. It is also a part time job share role for 3 ½ days per week.

The Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets together with personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society.

We are currently seeking to appoint a part time Receptionist for our head office in London near Waterloo station to work as part of a job share arrangement.

About the Receptionist role

This is a job share post and you would be required to work all day (08:45 – 17:00) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and Monday afternoons (12:45 – 17:00). Alternatively, you could work on Tuesday afternoons and all day on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays if you would prefer.

This is a busy and varied role and would be a great opportunity for a receptionist or administrator looking to gain some experience of HR administration.

As part of your duties as our Receptionist, you would be responsible for our main switchboard, managing our main enquiries email address and greeting visitors to the building.

What we’re looking for in our Receptionist

As the first point of contact many people have with the organisation, an understanding of customer service and a professional, friendly and personable approach are essential.

Good organisation and a flexible approach to work are also essential, as you would need to balance your reception duties with providing administrative support to the HR team, particularly in recruitment.

You would also need sound administration and IT skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
