Catering Manager-Welwyn Garden City-competitive 

Servest are recruiting for a Catering Manager based at a prestigious site near Welwyn Garden City.

Want to work within an exciting food brand that offers fresh seasonal food with a retail twist? Are you able to keep up to date with current food trends whilst making sure the customers have a fantastic dining experience? If this is you we have an exciting opportunity at a major site within our portfolio.

Day to day the role involves you managing a team of between 15 and 25 staff, overseeing both back of house and the front of house - with a grab and go catering outlet with deli / salad bar, theatre cooking, hot food counters and a retail focussed coffee offering. Your role is to make sure the unit runs smoothly, staff are trained, the unit is well presented and customers are happy- all this whilst meeting and exceeding financial budgets and client expectations. As the Unit Manager you will report into the Group Operations/ Area Manager, you will need a background of ideally retail catering management within a high end Business and Industry site. The site is open 5 days a week- the role is predominantly Monday - Friday (7am start) working around 40 hours per week- some flexibility with hours will be needed. The unit is busy with over 700 customers accessible to the restaurant.

About you... What will you need?

  • A background within Business and Industry Catering with a retail focused
  • Experience in managing a team of at least 15 catering staff- including Chefs
  • An interest in quality fresh food with the ability to work with the head chef to develop the menu
  • Ideally experience in a unit which services an onsite capacity of around 500
  • The ability to lead by example and build a team and train to exceed customers' expectations.
  • A Head chef or Chef Manager background would be advantageous
  • Superb customer service skills will come naturally
  • Ability to train health and safety to the team is advantageous
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgetary lines is a pre-requisite


Servest are offering a salary of up to £30k depending on experience- together with 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) and free parking onsite. Uniform and meals on duty are also provided.
