Weekend Cook/ Chef - Contract Catering
Servest are recruiting for experienced Chefs to work in a newly acquired site with high end catering facilities and food brand. The positions are based within a large, multisite, corporate head office location which has in excess of 4000 onsite based near East Midlands Airport.
This position is working Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday 9pm-1.30am (21:00-01:30) paid at £12 per hour- 8.5 hrs per week?
We are also recruiting for Chefs to work other shifts including-
Monday- Friday 10am-3pm with a competitive pay rate
5.30am-10.30am Tuesday and Wednesday and 10am-2pm on a Saturday (competitive )- 14 hours per week
Due to the location your own transport would be advantageous- please check you can get to the East Midlands Airport Area before applying.
About the role;
The unit has a dynamic food offering- with this in mind we are looking for competent chefs who can cook for up to 200 fresh seasonal food with on trend twists.
The position will include working all sections – Sauce, Deli, Hospitality, Breakfast and Fine Dining. You will be used to using quality fresh ingredients, working to sometimes tight deadlines in a fast paced environment but you will also get on the job training and exposure to working within a fantastic brigade with the opportunity to progress.
We are looking for Chefs who are- presentable, polite and who have good face to face customer service skills- you will not always be in the kitchen so you need to be happy to interact with the customers and client.
We are looking for a Chef with the following;
Ideally a background within business and industry contract catering is required however if you are used to volume fresh food hotels or restaurants will also be of interest.
You will have your NVQ level 2 or equivalent in catering (Chef)
Ideally a background in theatre cooking
To be able to work under pressure within a large team
Enthusiastic in driving the business and team forwards
Good working practices and a positive attitude
Good sound Knowledge of health and safety and food safety
Excellent communication and customer service skills – as you will be interacting with the customers base and onsite client
A real passion for food and service, with the ability to prepare and cook good quality seasonal food.
