PIVOT are one of the leading private sector providers of educational support to children both in schools, in on site school and work based learning centres and in the home. Due to the success and growth of current onsite provisions, we are now looking to extend our provision and create a new team to provide educational and work based support to young people.
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a young people focused professional to join a highly motivated team in a new exciting KS4 Alternative Educational and work based learning Provision supporting local schools and authorities.
Role Profile
Working within the team you will be expected to initiate and implement behaviour support both within the classroom, on a one to one basis/ small group basis and as part of targeted group work. You will be expected to liaise with and support teaching/associate staff and offer personalised individual strategies in order to overcome barriers to learning.
A key aspect of the role will be to engage with young people and establish productive working relationships with pupils and parents, acting as a positive role model.
Key Tasks
- Take a lead in developing, implementing, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of key elements of the provision of support to young people
- Lead the support to pupils in order to improve behaviour and attitude to learning within set strategies.
- Organise the deployment of support staff on a daily basis
- Manage the delegation of daily tasks that are designed to ensure the effective and efficient running of the school, including the maintenance of displays to a high quality.
- Create the environment to identify individual needs and understand each case through reviewing case details and reports.
- Liaise with key staff, teachers and the Senior Team in order to contribute and implement future action plans for specific individuals.
- Take responsibility for targets and actions relating to behaviour and pastoral needs
- Alongside other Managers and Education Instructors be able to record evidence required for case files.
- Day to day engagement with your people will be the key element to the success in this role.
- Build professional and positive relationships with all young people, with the aim engaging them with activities and opportunities.
- Where necessary, support with home or school visits in order to help parents develop strategies and develop joined up plans to secure positive family support and involvement and identify action plans.
- Provide feedback to pupils, schools, parents/carers and other relevant agencies on progress and developments through regular reviews and meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and where required attend meetings to gather and share information.
- Support the development of strategies and activities to encourage family and/or carer involvement within the provision and school.
- Be able to apply de-escalation strategies and if required be able to apply interventions and follow the Team Teach techniques. Full training will be given to support this if required.
