Joiner / General Builder

This is an opportunity to join a multi-disciplined historic building contractor working on listed buildings, churches and ancient monuments. Their in-house skills include stone masonry (production and on-site conservation work), metalwork, stained glass and historic glazing, joinery and specialist plastering. They mainly work in the North West of England, Wales and the West Midlands, but often work much further afield with sites currently in the South West, North of England and London. They are looking for an experienced Joiner / General Builder.

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and have experience in all aspects of joinery and general building work. You will hold a CSCS Card, or be prepared to obtain one. Their team is flexible - you must be prepared to work both out on site and at the workshop as required, as well as being prepared to assist other in-house craftsmen in their related occupations as and when the need arises.

Your work base will be just outside Chester, but you must be prepared to travel to sites further afield as required. You must have a full UK driving licence or equivalent and be willing to drive company vehicles if requested. You will be smart, polite and able to deal with clients on a day to day basis. You will have a can-do attitude, be hard working and be able to produce work of the highest standard consistently.

You will be joining a close-knit team of highly-skilled craftsmen and women and will be expected to work with the team as well as under your own steam.
