Experienced Financial Controller required for early stage South West start-up business

The Role

Working closely with the senior management team, the Financial Controller will ensure the smooth running and management of the company's complex financial environment for this dynamic start-up opportunity. You will have significant scope to expand the role as the business grows quickly through start-up to operating phase with responsibilities including:

• day-to-day book-keeping / running monthly financial reporting
• budget preparation / building management information structure
• establishing financial policies, processes and procedures
• business analysis, forecasting and continuous evaluation of the numbers
• coordinating regulatory reporting and technical compliance issues
• ensuring quality control of all financial transactions and financial reporting

The Company

Our client is a brand new start-up business and you will be among the first of many employees, currently based within walking distance of Bristol City centre, but an office move to central Bath is planned. It is sustainable energy business with a conscience. Using smart technology and a shared customer community platform, it is building a consumer-focused technology business.

The Person

The ideal Financial Controller will have a relevant "accountancy" qualification ( ACCA, CIMA etc. ) with previous experience in a dynamic fast moving business environment. You will be flexible in your approach to multi-task and work hard to deliver the early stage growth required, combining enthusiasm with ability and ambition. With a commitment to high quality service, you will have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles / procedures and accounting software with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
