The successful candidate will have experience of managing the school?s finance, premises and facilities with reporting functions to the Head, Directors and Governing Body.

Responsibilities

Finance and Accounting:

- Managing income and expenditure including preparation of budgets
- Provision of management information to the Senior Management team and the Governing Body
- Advising on general finance policy, scholarships and bursary funds
- Managing school bank accounts, reconciliation, preparing profit and loss, and cash flow reports
- Managing finance office and internal queries relating to payroll and pension matters

Premises:

- Maintenance of school buildings schedules
- Supervising all buildings projects, obtaining tenders, liaising with builders and architects
- Day to day supervision of premises and equipment
- Negotiation for school equipment and utilities

General Management and Administration:

- Ensuring compliance in respect of employment law, working with school?s HR advisers and feeding back to the Headteacher
- Participate in recruitment process, issuing contracts
- Complying with safeguarding regulations, school policies and procedures relating to child protection


The successful candidate will....

- Have previous experience of working in a busy school environment as a bursar or similar role
- Have excellent knowledge of ICT
- Have excellent numeracy, literacy and analytical skills
- Have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, whilst demonstrating a flexible approach
- Have the ability to work under pressure, role model resilience and ensure that deadlines are met
- Have a commitment to fulfilling the school's strategic intentions and sustaining excellence
