Permanent full-time Qualified Electrician

Based in Staffordshire and with over 30 years' experience in the industry, Rays-Tek Ltd has grown into a well-recognised Industrial Electrical Services company. Rays-Tek Ltd offers a complete design, manufacture, installation and commissioning service for all electrical Projects.

Due to our success in expanding our client base we are now looking for a Permanent full-time Qualified Electrician mostly working in a production and manufacturing environment.

We are looking for a Qualified Multi-Skilled Electrician to join our team in the Staffordshire area. It's a diverse role covering all aspects of industrial electrical services, primarily but not exclusively in the Animal Feed and Food manufacturing sectors.

This position will suit a highly-motivated person who is self-sufficient at decision making and completing tasks in hand. Confidence, ability to work under pressure, willingness to become a key individual and being able to self-manage your own workload and jobs are all qualities which the successful candidate should possess. You will be required to provide first line out of hour's response to our client base.

Qualification Requirements:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent City & Guilds
  • 17th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2394/5 (formally City & Guilds 2391) would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a varying scope of electrical installation works, remedial works and reactive maintenance.
  • To operate in an effective, efficient and professional manner at all times.

Key Attributes required for this role:

  • Prioritising tasks, ensuring all work is carried-out to the standards expected, recording outcomes to create a positive, safe and comfortable working environment.
  • Preparing and maintaining of any relevant site documentation.
  • Complete electrical installations in line with the appropriate British Standard Requirements for Electrical Installations, including initial verification and periodically inspect electrical installations.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the current relevant health and safety and environmental regulations/legislation requirements.
  • Take ownership of any tasks assigned, liaising directly with the client, site supervisors and team members.
  • Provide regular updates to the client on the project progress, and keep them informed of any delays to ensure they fully understand the status of the project.
  • Ensure good communication between other team members at all times.
  • Work with and assist other team members to ensure all tasks are completed on time and in budget.
  • Remain professional at all times.

The Ideal Candidate will be/have:

  • Experience of installing all new containment (Tray, Trunking & conduits), all new electrical cabling, 3 phase, multi core, data and termination of control panels and associated electrical equipment is essential.
  • Able to work in a customer focused environment with excellent customer service skills and housekeeping.
  • Able to follow safe working procedures and accurately record data and information.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
  • Can make decisions and solve problems.
  • Have experience of a variety of electrical tasks, including installation works, reactive maintenance, fault finding, inspection and testing.
  • Have a willingness to train our next generation of electricians by supervising apprentices.
  • An understanding of all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
  • Full Clean UK driving licence is essential.
  • Availability to work overtime and on an out of hours on call rota will be required.
  • 40 hours a week + overtime paid.

Based in Staffordshire but must be flexible to travel.
