LOCATION: Easton, Cambridgeshire
JOB TITLE: HGV Mechanic
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 per annum
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and 1/4 week of 4pm - 12am
THE COMPANY: Our client, based in Easton, is an expanding family-run business that has been on the road for over 43 years. Operating from their strategically placed base on the A14 link road between the A1 and M1 junctions in Cambridgeshire, they transport all manner of goods throughout the UK and Europe for a wide range of clients. They currently employee a 90-strong team of dedicated employees, a modern fleet of 65 vehicles and more than 120 trailers
THE ROLE: The role of a HGV Mechanic will be to support the existing team maintaining and servicing their varied fleet of trucks.
Key Responsibilities/Duties of a HGV Mechanic to include:-
• To carry out MOT inspections and repairs to VOSA standard for all the fleet.
• To support in the work load of 6 weekly statutory inspections/services.
• To carry out repairs/attend to local breakdowns on our client's fleet as required.
• To ensure that all diagnostic work is carried out accurately and efficiently.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role/environment. The successful HGV Mechanic will bring their experience with them to play their part in the continued success of our client. It is essential that they must be able to work unsupervised. Any knowledge of hydraulics will be highly advantageous but not essential as is a Class 1 or 2 licence.
Key experience / skills for the role of HGV Mechanic based in Easton, Cambridgeshire:
• Must live within a commutable distance of Easton, Cambridgeshire
• Previous experience in a similar role/environment.
• Up to date diagnostics knowledge is essential
• Class C & E (Class1), Class C (Class 2)is not essential for this position
• An industry specific qualification is desirable but not essential
