Web Development Officer

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with outstanding technical skills to join the Marketing Department of Blackburn College. You will be passionate about harnessing new technologies to engage and convert audiences and will be responsible for assisting the Website and Digital Campaigns Manager with the development of the College's website, systems and mobile applications and systems, and will support the team to maximise data.
Your duties will include the extension of the website's Umbraco content management system (CMS), support for users of the CMS and other technical support. You will also be responsible for implementing front end website designs using the appropriate technologies within an MVC framework. You will work on the development of cross platform mobile applications primarily using the C# programming language and to assist with the development and maintenance of the College's digital platforms. You will also have a good understanding of content, user journeys, usability and will drive forward the development of the website, underpinned by analytics and accessibility best practice.

What we are looking for
With a HND/Degree or equivalent level in Computing, IT or related subject you will have experience in building and maintaining websites, systems and mobile applications. You will also have an understanding of front end responsive design concepts, experience of working with responsive design frameworks, you must possess experience of software development using object based methodologies and languages (primarily C#, Java or PHP) and web or mobile applications development using 3rd Party APIs.
With the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the marketing team and wider college, you will also have experience of developing front end web solutions using 3rd party libraries such as JQuery and experience of front end web development using Html5, CSS and Java Script.
