Electronic Test Technician/Electronic Test Engineer
Salary range GBP20,000 - GBP27,000
Based in Maidenhead
A varied position, created to support our Electronic Engineering Team during product development and provide independent lab-based product testing.
We are looking for someone with an electronics background, who is going to be comfortable performing a variety of test and validation on embedded electronics assemblies down to circuit level. The role will take you through organising and building prototype PCBs, troubleshooting issues, into performing formal product validation.
Ideally you will have previous experience as a test engineer or technician, and be able to read schematics to identify designs and fault find.
Duties:
- Perform component, PCB level and product testing
- Develop design validation test procedures
- Build prototypes from bare PCB with fine pitch SMT components
- Specification, design and build of test equipment
- Perform in-house and external EMC testing
- Manage and maintain test equipment
- Manage and maintain PCB layout database
- Support engineers (procuring components, field testing, documentation etc.)
- Support and maintenance of current products manufactured in Czech Republic and China
Experience & Skills:
- Ability to debug PCBs down to component level from schematics
- Excellent soldering skills - soldering fine pitch SMT is essential
- Familiar with Oscilloscopes, DVMs, Spectrum Analysers
- Self-starter with a "can do" attitude
- Analytical approach
- Good communicator
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Minimum of HND in electronics or computing
