Purpose of Position
The programme requires an experienced Vehicle Systems Engineer with Electronic Architecture and C4I experience to be a key contributor to our clients Land Systems team responsible for delivery of the AJAX platform and can also support bidding for additional work into other programmes. Our clients Land Systems is expanding to encompass a variety of additional packages of work, and this key individual will be required to scope, plan, and deliver against these requirements.
The successful candidate will be a competent and rounded Systems Engineer with experience of designing, integrating and delivering system architectures, coupled with a proven capability of delivering mission system programmes. The candidate will have demonstrable experience interfacing with internal and external customers, understanding system requirements in the C4I and Electronic Architecture domain.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Integration Chief Engineer and working within the Integration Engineering team, the key individual responsibilities are:
Perform System Design tasks and Impact analysis of new and changing requirements.
Assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structures, Work Estimates, Schedules and detailed programme plans for the design, development and systems integration of new and changing requirements within the Electronic Architecture and Vehicle Systems.
Develop detailed system designs and implementations that fulfil the requirements on the existing programme while balancing the needs of the and new or changing requirements
Derive Subsystem Requirements and Interface Requirements
Interpret compliance matrices
Specify, implement and document Electronic Architecture System designs and solutions into bid activities.
Represent the project team at various reviews including design, safety and programmatic.
Education/Experience
Essential
Experience of working on Electronic Architecture and C4I solutions for a defence programme
System design and development of complex hardware and software systems
Application of System Engineering analysis processes
Expertise in use of Requirement Management tools (DOORS)
Experience in working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist domain teams
Desirable
Expertise in of the Land System and Armoured Fighting Vehicle domain.
