An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Project Engineer to work for an exciting equipment manufacturer and system integrator based in the Oxford area.
They have a multi-disciplinary team of designers, electrical and control and process personnel and as a collective they deliver high value special purpose equipment with the goal on improving manufacturing processes for their end clients.
Their machinery is interesting and complex and this position has arisen due to growth. The role will be accountable for driving the technical delivery of projects from managing the detailed and schedule elements of the project through the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Technical leadership and schedule management of assigned projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Development of project objectives and deliverables by reviewing project proposals and plans.
- Formulate project technical visions, strategies, and specifications based on customer requirements.
- Partake in technical studies and prepare cost estimates.
- Identify and prioritise project risks providing solutions and mitigating actions.
- Create and manage project schedules ensuring planned activities are sequenced, coordinated and monitored. Resolve problems and take corrective actions to avoid schedule delays.
- Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and work packages, assigning competent personnel and subcontractors as required.
- Create and maintain formal project documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Responsible for overall product quality, ensuring thorough design review, build and test phases.
- Controls project costs by approving expenditures against budgets
- Review bids from contractors, manage contractor activities and contracts.
- Monitor compliance with performance standards and specifications.
- Responsible for coordinating and assisting with equipment commissioning
- Responsible for coordinating and ensuring successful completion of factory and site acceptance tests
- Contributes to after sales technical support as and when necessary
Skills and Experience:
- Proven working experience as project engineer in the field equipment manufacturing and factory automation.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects, with good understanding and appreciation for mechanical, electrical, software and process control.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated team management experience.
- Ability to work under pressure, working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
