This is an opportunity to join the largest supplier to the UK's jewellery industry, offering customers over 16,000 products in various precious metals including silver, gold, palladium and platinum.
They currently have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join the existing team of 5 employees. You will support the Manager by taking responsibility for the end to end Supply Chain from forecast and demand planning to liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
Your responsibilities will be:
- To effectively manage and control stock levels through data analysis using the internal forecasting systems (AS400), proactively reviewing sales and demand to ensure stock is ordered and delivered on time.
- Planning for promotions and peak periods by analysing historical sales and liaising with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Placing internal and external stock replacement orders and monitoring their delivery dates.
- Liaising with their team of Product Managers to ensure new products and new supplier contracts are set up and managed.
- Resource products to existing or new suppliers to obtain quality improvement and cost savings.
- Monitor all open the orders on the department to reduce overdues and ensure products are received on time.
The successful candidate must have stock management experience with the ability to analyse and interrogate data. Ideally you will have some experience of supplier management but this is not essential.
You will need excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel and you will be or working towards a CIPS or a relevant Supply Chain qualification.
You must be an excellent communicator with the ability to work quickly under pressure.
In return they can offer a salary of 26-28K dependent on experience. Up to 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Company Pension Scheme with employer contributions matched up to 8%, Life Assurance.
Their working week totals 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
