Our high profile client in the automotive industry is currently looking to recruit an 'Automotive Production Engineer' to work at their site in Bridgend.
Position Description:
- Automotive Production Engineers LPWR (Launch Planning and Workforce Readiness)
- Develop a comprehensive training strategy, to ensure the workforce is prepared for the upcoming launch.
- Includes training for new product and technology related to processes, facilities, tooling & equipment
- Work in coordination with other plant personnel to implement
- Ensure Product Specialist Group (PSG) and Tooling and Equipment Group (LSTS) Group programs are in place to support the launch.
- Support launch management team and staff organizations in developing staffing plans and training budgets for plant launch team
- Interface with operations management to implement selection criterion, process, and requirement dates
- Implement, assess and report all launch training and follow PTO related launch tasks and deliverables.
- Ensure that appropriate training systems are in place to support launch training activities
- Determine training facility and equipment requirements for launch training
- Ensure training specifications are utilized by suppliers/OEMs, other providers and internal customers to ensure effective implementation and evaluation of training
- Utilize project management skills to manage related tasks, standards, timing and resources and utilize appropriate tracking tools
- Provide process leadership to the plant team through the use of established training standards and models.
- Support implementation of corporate initiatives ensuring flawless execution of launch process
- Support extraordinary Quality launch-related initiatives
- Document best practices/lessons learned throughout the launch for training related tasks, participate in documenting launch team lessons learned, ensuring organized, cost-effective process for launching new product/facility
Skills Required:
- Demonstrate a high level of motivation, innovation and initiative.
- Good communication skills.
- Evidence of leadership, interpersonal and team building skills, eg leading problem solving teams
- Strong analytical skills- ideally applicants should have and demonstrate a good understanding of Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, union and hourly workforce
Experience Required:
- Experience in production, engineering and/or maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Experience facilitating and coordinating development of comprehensive training plans for manufacturing and/or assembly plants
- Experience with project management and computerized training tracking system
- Experience in developing and managing a training budget
- Experience selecting/developing training programs.
Education Required:
- Degree educated
