- The DCS Security Operations team is responsible for the delivery of physical security operations across our technical infrastructure in Europe and Asia. The team is divided into two key areas, technical systems and process and operations.
- The Security Operations Specialist will report to, and where necessary deputise for, the Director of Security
- Operations.
- The successful candidate and will hold a senior position within the process and operations team.
- Working with the Security Operations Officer and the Physical Access Control Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the formulation, delivery and management of physical security standards and procedures in keeping with policy and customer requirements across all operational areas including manned guarding operations. This will include close liaison with key customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Ownership and accountability for ensuring that DCS security standards and procedures are fully compliant with ISO 27001 and other external security standards where applicable.
- Act as first point of contact for the site managers in respect of security operations on all sites managed by DCS Operations.
- Accountable for delivering accurate and detailed Operational Requirements for all new security system and hardware installations aligned to policy and identified risks.
- Manage the development, delivery and periodic review of all security processes, aligned to policy and local site requirements.
- Develop and maintain a system internal process checks to ensure process is being followed correctly
- Maintain regular contact, and successful working relationships, with site managers to review security matters and to issue, implement or escalate appropriate actions.
- Have a pivotal role the continuous improvement programme of current physical security design with accountability for certain deliverables within this programme.
- Manage the delivery of security projects for key customers to ensure that all requirements are met and are delivered within required time scales.
- Deputise for Director Security Operations when required
Experience / Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience as a security manager or in a specialist physical security consultancy role.
- Demonstrable ability to carry out detailed site security assessments and recommend prioritised changes where required.
- Knowledge of ISO27001, PCI-DSS and other industry wide accreditations and standards.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of Secured by Design, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design and the concepts and delivery of Operational Requirements for technical security measures.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the application of Automated Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems,
- Event Management Systems and CCTV Systems.
- Ability to communicate security matters at a highly technical level as well as to present information to stakeholders without a security or technical background
- Certified Physical Security Professional or similar professional security qualification
- Ability to maintain and develop successful working relationships across the business, at all levels of the hierarchy.
- A strong team worker, who is committed to 'working together' to achieve the team's working activities.
- An individual who is committed to continually self-improving and developing their own skills and knowledge.
Desirable
- Project Management experience is highly desirable
- Previous experience of working with security installation contractors as the Client representative.
- Previous experience of managing manned guarding contracts
- Security Risk Assessment/Risk Management experience.
- Membership of Security Institute (FSyI/MSyl)
