We are a well-established and rapidly growing engineering company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of predominantly automotive products. Due to continued growth, we have an exciting new role for an Account Manager / Sales Engineer to join our highly-motivated team.

The Account Manager / Sales Engineer will be responsible for the day to day management of customers, their requirements and expectations pivotal to the growth of the business. You should be a highly capable, confident individual who can work independently and as part of a cohesive team. A positive, pro-active approach is critical, as is the ability to work to rapidly changing requirements under extremely tight timescales. The individual should have a passion for sales and technical products with focus on Automotive, Motorsport and High Performance markets. This role would also suit an Engineer with a strong Commercial interest and capability with a proven track record of project and customer management looking to move into commercial/sales role

Key Responsibilities

*Management of the sales and on-going relationship with key customers across medical, industrial, motorsport, marine and high performance automotive markets.
*Qualify leads, oversee and manage the sales funnel.
*Manage and develop new and existing client accounts to maximize turnover and profit.
*Develop sales budgets, forecasts, gather market intelligence and regularly report progress.
*Support the business in establishing a high-profile presence in the market place including a variety of marketing initiatives.
*Understand the manufacturing processes and key product characteristics.
*Prepare and support internal business case costing and external quotations/proposals for customer review and business wins.
*Secure customer forecasts, schedules and orders.
*Help to define contracts and agreements which are in the best interest of the business.
*Communicate cost estimates to the operations / engineering team to ensure project spend to budget.
*Manage and mitigate risk from customer projects protecting internal and external requirements.
*The role will also involve a variety of other tasks including project management, coordination, relationship management, marketing of the business, negotiation, contract management, leadership and innovative development of future opportunities.

Personal Characteristics / Qualifications

*Experience in a similar or related position, an engineering or technical business degree is required.
*Experience within Technology, Automotive or Motorsport markets is preferred.
*Excellent MS Office, presentation skills and attention to detail.
*Good project management experience.
*Previous experience with SAP ERP system would be advantageous.
*Ability to understand and communicate engineering principles.
*Approachable and ability to develop strong relationships.
*Great team working skills.
*Flexible work attitude and willingness for travel where necessary.
*Positive "can do" approach and ability to work on own initiative.
*Good organisational skills.
*Full driving license.
*Excellent communicator.
*Strong interest in high performance engineering and manufacturing.
