Senior Developer - MS Dynamics NAV 12 Month Contract

This is an opportunity to join the UK's leading global provider of diverse education and training programmes based in Central/North London. They are seeking a Senior Dynamics NAV developer to work, on a contract basis, on a major upgrade of a heavily modified and integrated Dynamics NAV 2009 Classic database to the latest NAV 2017 version. This a high profile, complex, extensive project and a fantastic career opportunity.

You will be working with a talented small internal team of IT professionals, with some external consultancy, in a great and flexible working environment which supports each employees unique situations.

If you are a Senior Developer who can provide a hands on approach to implementing the latest version of NAV, taking responsibility for highlighting areas of inadequacy and proposing steps for improvement, this would be a great career move for you. This will include test scripts and deployment management, design, develop and maintain integration functions into existing platforms within the Business.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to impart their technical knowledge, best practices and design patterns by training the existing development team and be able to fill the skills gap and develop the more advanced customisations during this business critical project. Should have experience in SCRUM methodology and have worked in an AGILE environment.

Required skills:
- Standard NAV skills (ideally NAV 2016 workflows)
- Must have strong Financials, Sales, Purchase and Warehouse knowledge with the ability to consult on solution design
- Security, user setup
- Must have experience development experience in Dynamics NAV C/AL, to rewrite current solution with Design Patterns, Extensions and Events
- Convert classic Reports to RDLC Reports, and be able to guide client to replace reports with BI options

Essential integration skills:
- Microsoft SQL Server Stored Procedures, Queries, triggers
- Dynamics NAV Web Services
- Integration to REST/SOAP External Web Services (lots of this!)
- Visual Studio 2008 Windows CE 5.0 for Barcode Scanners
- Visual Studio 2012/3 C# for a variety of custom COM Dll's created for encryption and multiple shipping agent integrations

Competitive contract rates circa £350-£400 per day dependent upon experience. The post is a one year contract based in Central/North London with some remote working.
